One person can move a mountain
Our Foundation draws its inspiration from Shri Dashrath Manjhi — the “Mountain Man” of Bihar — who, single-handedly and with little more than a hammer and chisel, carved a path straight through a hill. His labour created a shorter, easier route from his village of Gehlaur to the nearest block, Wazirganj, in Gaya.
Manjhi’s story is both inspirational and landmark. It reminds us of the extraordinary power a single, determined individual holds to solve the most complex problems of rural development — and it is that spirit we carry into every village we serve.
When the will is unshakeable, even a mountain gives way to a single pair of hands.
